We are passionate about helping you through your labour with as little pain relief as necessary. With training and experience to support you through all outcomes, we aim to get the best possible birth experience for you.
We encourage a natural approach to birth guided by the New Zealand College of Midwives philosophy of partnership with women. We support the use of alternative medicine and promote natural methods of pain relief including TENS (Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation).

I believe in a woman’s ability to birth normally most of the time. I support you in your decisions regarding your pregnancy and help you make informed choices around your care and your birth plan. I love my career as an Independent Midwife. Having a passion and an enthusiasm for this demanding role.
I enjoy the partnership we develop and helping you to be confident in your decision making. You are faced with many choices and I help empower you to make the right decisions for you and your family. I would love to join you on your journey to motherhood.
In October 1990 the government passed the Nurses Amendment Act. This allowed Registered Midwives to practice midwifery, independently of a General Practitioner.
The LMC coordinates your care and remains involved even if your care is handed over to the obstetric team (this is called handover to secondary care) in the case of an emergency or complication.
In this case the doctors make decisions following a three way discussion that includes you the patient and the LMC.
